Hello people,

I wonder does anyone here of you guys uses Aqurisol as preventative measure to be put on your regular age water for your bettas fish for fin rots, clamp fin, ich etc... in thailand they named this one as blue water and they didn't include the active ingredient on there label, by curiosity I started to dig in and I found out that its Aquarisol here which contain copper salt.

I'm planning to include this as a regular mixture of my Betta water. Well as I have read the active ingredient on it is Copper salt which I believe has a lot of medical benefits as fungicide and been use for a long time in medical field and large fish farms to prevent fungi. I'm posting this topic just to know your thoughts using it.Hope this might help you guys to preserve are precious bettas. Lets Get ready for the show next year.

Your Truly,
Francis

I use AquariSol excusively to treat Velvet and Ick, and have a large supply of it on hand since I've had a real problem with Velvet in the past (I tracked it back to a certain transhipper who no longer tranships).  However, I've never used it as a water conditioner without cause.  Personally, I find the copper to be very hard on the bettas - they seem to be much less happy when I'm treating them and perk up significantly after the treatment is finished.

Also, I do believe that AquariSol has been taken off the market in Canada.  I purchased mine in the USA a few years ago when I was down.  I loaded up on it then because I couldn't get it here.  I like it much better than CopperSafe or Maracyde or Super Ick Cure.

I wonder how much better it would be as a fungicide compared to, lets say Methelyne Blue.

Hi Heather,

I also don't like CopperSafe or Maracyde or Super Ick Cure. Because it almost kill my breeders on my first shipment treating them prophylactically with those meds and I swear it, it will never ever have a chance for those meds to be stocked in my fish room ever. Well for me as a rule of thumb you should always have IAL, Banana leaves and a lot of Rock Salt. I just wanted to add up Aquarisol (Copper Salt) to my water because generally it will prevent clamp fin, fin rot etc... but I will cut the concentration in half on preparing it just to make it a preventative addition to my water.

NOTE: I did an experimental test on my cull bettas 6 of them, I did this test because I wanted to know whats causing me to have dropsy because I lost one of my favorite betta fish on dropsy. So I finally pin point whats causing it one of my live food grindal worm so I did chuck all my grindal culture and won't be using any of it in the future.

Happy Betta Breeding Cheesy

Cheers,

Francis
