Finally got myself another predator...  I used to breed S.A. Cichlids and admittedly I am still a sucker for them.  Anyone else like Dempseys?  He has a couple of tears in his dorsal, but appears to have come out on the "winning end" of a few scraps...

Very cool.  I've never had any cichlids besides a few oscars (I think they're in the cichlid family?) several years ago.  I didn't keep them too long because I only had a 35gal tank at the time.

I've always thought JD's are quite nice and flashy.  If you ever want to get several cichlids at a time, I could probably arrange something with someone in London who supplies a few shops in toronto.  I just got 5 bristlenose plecos (including 3 albinos)...all 1.5 inches long for $16.  I thought that was a pretty decent price.  He showed me his breeding room his basement, and it's full of various kinds of cichlids!

We love all fish here. Nice JD.
We have angelfish, 4 species of Lake Malawi African cichlids, Keyhole cichlids and have kept many more.
I love betta more than them all tho.

Dempseys are nice and colourful http://209.85.62.26/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /> My uncle had a pair that just kept spawning when I was a kid. It was fun watching them grow up.
