Well I've done the usual harvesting of BBS. This last time I turned off the airhose, and just left the bottle for a few days. Then I accidentily, while fiddling with the different airhoses, turned it back on a small amount. I glanced at the bottle today, and saw movement. Much bigger than normal http://209.85.62.26/html/emoticons/laugh.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='laugh.gif' />
I thought "How did they not starve'? Then I realized I had filled the bottle with aquarium water. That had lots of nice, rich algae http://209.85.62.26/html/emoticons/rolleyes.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='rolleyes.gif' /> Well, I guess that did the trick! I went to my corner pet food store and bought some spirulina tablets as well. I broke off a small piece earlier today and chucked it in the bottle. All gone, and no cloudy green water. So now by accident, I finally have managed to cultivate adult brine shrimp http://209.85.62.26/html/emoticons/laugh.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='laugh.gif' />

I did the same thing once. Feed the Adults to my Bettas and they loved them. The Bettas sort of gave them a funny look  http://209.85.62.26/html/emoticons/blink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='blink.gif' /> at first but once they tasted one they where off after the rest.
I now dump the last of the BBs into a large pickle jar with a air hose and put some spurlina powder in ever so often.  The water is salt water in the jar.
Makes a nice change for my adults every once and a will.
Besides the adult brime shrimp are neat to watch too.

I did that too. I had left the last batch of BBS I had ever made, just sitting in the basement... Well, a few months later Maru looked in and was like "..Sam, there's something alive in there!"
All I know is that it must have been extremely salty (one inch of water from a liter, lol), and its odd cause some were large (maybe three quarters of a centimeter?) and others were super tiny.
I capture two and name them Spock and.. something.
