You'll see them start to crawl up the sides of the container. Then just take a toothpick or whatever and scoop some out and into your tank

I keep at least 4-6 cultures going in case one goes bad (mold, etc). I use the damp paper towel method for harvesting with great success. I put the piece of damp paper towel on top of the culture about 4 days after the culture was started. It's not messy and you get a great yield of pure worms with no oatmeal. I usually put the spoonful of worms in a small amount or water and then feed the fish with a dropper to dispense the worms.
