I just wanted to say that we should have a basics section for breeding bettas which can give a new breeder all the information needed to breed bettas and raise the fry all placed conveniently in one place there we can post what the breeder needs and where they can get it from share your experiences with bettas with the newbies and to tell them how they can get good quality stocks or if they are not a breeder explain to them all the different tail types and colours. That's just one thing i had trouble finding when i was starting breeding bettas good information. I know that some very good information is in the forums but it is all scattered and the person might not bother to read them so just a suggestion that i think can help new breeders.

Hey.  We have one... it's the Betta Breeding and Genetics section at http://z15.invisionfree.com/BettaBreedersC...php?showforum=9

If there are any good summary posts, I can always pin them http://209.85.62.26/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' />

If I may... What I think TBG is talking about is maybe making some write-ups on the mentioned topics like you would find on UB. Im not pushing them as a site but they do have write-ups on a lot of things mainly surrounding husbandry and illness. Instead of having discussions like many posts make like official write-ups and as you said Clefty, have a mod pin them up.

Yep, I agree that that would be helpful.  I used to go to UB, and if I recall, they basically have a bunch of great pinned topics right?  That's what I meant.  Feel free to write topics such as the ones you mentioned, post them, then PM me to pin them up.  Or, PM them to me and I can maybe tweak them and add stuff then post and pin myself.  If we do that, I think we should have them as pinned topics and locked so they don't just become regular threads.

Actually i was saying to have a forum only for reference so the person may only read the procedures and if they have any questions they may ask in the Betta breeding and genetic forums.

Ahh my mistake. I understand now. IMO I think it would work better if we had a HTML page with these topics, then you can actually come into the forum and talk about them. On here such a thing is possible without making a page and just using the forum but then the only problem I would see is people posting on to the topics...

Unless of course we made the posts, locked them, and then put in the post if you have any questions post in the forum. However to me personally eye candy and ease of access will work better. Then again thats just my opinion I may be wrong.

If you want to learn about basic stuff, try bettysplendens.com there's a ton of good info there. There's no match anywhere else for her library of articles.
