So I've been nursing a giant female through a case of dropsy and she's been slowly recovering, yeah. However I think she's out to drive me to an early grave. She's quite the jumper and got out of the net cage just to hang out beside it. She's also an excellent camoflage artist and how she hides in a 20 gallon tank with 10 angelfish is beyond me. She's 3 inches long and blue but most of the time I can't find her and then start searching the floor and interrogating the cat!! She's out to get me!!

lol wow.  Sometimes bettas are just strange eh?

I've had a few that repeatedly try to jump out of the tank!  Hope she heals well.  Dropsy is difficult to treat, that's for sure!

Ian,
It looks like she's going to make a full recovery which is the first time I've had a fish recover from dropsy. As she's a giant pk girl, she would be hard to replace. As for her effectiveness at hiding, that's beyond me. However I've covered all the spaces so I don't have to blame my feline assistant, Maddie.

I put her directly under a filter in a larger tank so she got lots of fresh water. She has a mind of her own and kept jumping out of the net. I put her and a male into the breeding tank, both in cups. Checked back later and she's swimming around the tank. She had to have jumped over 2 inches to get out of the cup. She's now named "Perdita" the jumping betta!!
